fire.

Some random thoughts. Call it a poem, call it stream of consciousness, call it whatever you please.

There’s a fire burning in my soul,

Building building…it’s rising to the surface.

A strike, a spark, an eternal flame,

Vibrant color always there.

Now the time has come for passion,

Anointed inspiration through light and shade,

Shining bright, viewing eyes.

Hold tight! This is only the beginning.

Dreaming.

In Dreamland last evening, I was strolling about Manhattan at Christmas time. The air was crisp, the ground was white, people were merry. It was wonderful. I was shopping at Target, full of people, surrounded by reds, greens, and golds. I was very happy in this dream. And there was a theme song. It played throughout the dream, even when I was outside.

Styx - Come Sail Away.

“A gathering of Angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said
They said, “Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with meeee lads…”

God seems to be using the most epic of songs lately to speak to me. And I think that’s pretty rad.

Rejoice.

“This is not the end
This is not the end of this
We will open our eyes wide, wider

This is not our last
This is not our last breath
We will open our mouths wide, wider

And you know you’ll be alright
Oh and you know you’ll be alright

This is not the end
This is not the end of us
We will shine like the stars bright, brighter”

- Gungor - This Is Not The End

Just had a radical prayer time with God. I was worried about some stuff. He says,

“This is not the time to mourn, but a time to rejoice!”

Once A Year

This is a Birthday/New Year’s Resolution List. I haven’t made a list in a VERY long time, but I decided to make one, mostly for my purposes to pray about and hopefully acquire within this year. : )

1. Blank Canvas - for painting. I’ve been really inspired to paint…and I need some art on my walls.

2. 35mm Film - for my newly acquired vintage cameras. I have this desire to shoot film again. I think it’s pretty rad.

3. Hangers - for my clothes. I need those cool-looking hangers with the slots to hang like 3 pairs of pants on one hanger. Yeah, those.

4. Gold Bangles - No no, not Bengals…BANGLES. Like bracelets. I’ve been getting back into gold, especially since I’ve started re-creating my wardrobe. I find I’m attracted to warmer colors.

5. Coffee! - I <3 coffee. Blue Bottle, Four Barrel, Phillz. I’m pretentious about coffee. SNOBBERY for the win!

6. Noise-canceling headphones - For my BART rides…and future train/bus rides.

7. Speakers for my turntable - Hopefully I will be re-acquiring my turntable, but I need speakers to properly obtain vinyl listening perfection. : )

8. iPad - This is probably the most frivolous one. I’ve been trying and trying to justify it, and the best I can come up with is…my laptop is 6 years old and I would like to not use it so much…except for serious photo editing. I’m scared it’s gonna die on me one day. It’s an amazing machine though.

9. A better job - This is one that only I can get. It’s feeling like time to find something more rewarding, that pays better, that is challenging and uses my talents.

10. Travel - to places I’ve never been. Like Canada. Oh wait, I’ve been to Canada. Ok, how about Delaware. An all-expenses paid trip to Delaware! YEEHAW!

11. Growth - Continue to embrace who I am. I love this!

12. Respond - Not react. A major challenge for me, but I am getting better.

You - Day 1 of my photo a day attempt. These bunny ears were purchased at the Alameda County Fair a couple years ago. They were the hit of the night. Everyone took a turn under the disco bunny. You can find the challenge here: http://www.fatmumslim.com.au/ if you want to play along!

From today’s walk. Sometimes I do cra-cra things like walk home 1.6 miles from Trader Joes. It was super fun though cause I discovered this rad neighborhood that was something out of the 70s. Every house was different. Pure amazing. And then I hit Ocean Ave, and found Jesus. He’s also rad. And amazing.
